people's attitudes towards Government.

Up to 2,000 people are being surveyed by the UBP's pollsters, Penn and Schoen Associates.

And yesterday the party's executive officer Mr. Joe Gibbons said he was encouraged by the telephone responses.

"Everybody is cooperating with the poll, which I believe is a positive sign for the party.

"When things are going well in the Country you get this reaction.'' Mr. Gibbons said people were being asked up to 60 questions, such as how the Country is faring and how Government is conducting itself.

"It takes around 10 or 15 minutes, and concentrates on attitudes and issues.'' The random poll is carried out by the UBP roughly once a year.

Mr. Gibbons said the findings would not be publicised.
