The 42-year-old was riding a livery cycle along Middle Road, Southampton when he lost control on a bend in the road. No other vehicles were involved.

Yesterday he was listed as stable in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward Memorial Hospital.

A female passenger sustained only slight cuts and abrasions in the accident.

A local man is also in the ICU after an accident on Somerset Road, Sandys on Thursday night.

The 42-year-old hit a wall after failing to negotiate a sharp turn at the junction with Cambridge Road. He sustained serious chest and leg injuries.

Two break-ins on Laffan Street and Euclid Avenue have been reported to Police following a series of crimes in the same area on Wednesday.
