Town reunion for calderon
entertain former understudy Mark Trott and his group from Dandy Town.
The meeting represents the first time Calderon will have come up against the club, who sacked him three weeks ago.
Calderon played down this fact, preferring to emphasise the need for Hotels to come away with valuable points from the match and allow them to ease any worries about relegation.
"I have no hard feelings when it comes to the players (at Dandy Town),'' said Calderon, who will have to find a way to get his troops up after the 5-1 thrashing suffered on Thursday against Devonshire Colts. "I like to see them do well, but we're hoping to aid our own cause. A point would be great and two would be icing on the cake.'' However, Hotels will have to do without the services of leading marksman Ricky Hill, who has apparently decided to turn his attention to cricket as Bermuda prepares for the ICC Trophy tournament.
Chris Sabir is also doubtful for Sunday, further hindering Hotels' plight.
Trott had praise for Calderon in instilling a sense of purpose in the Town players before he left, telling them that they "had a lot to play for'' and "anything they accomplish will be because of the effort they put in,'' not the coach.
"My concern is to make sure the team is not complacent and am not just happy with the fact that they have won their last two matches,'' said Trott. "We haven't won anything yet and the league is still our main priority.'' That match aside, the game of the day has Somerset travelling to Bernard Park to face North Village in what has been one of the more spirited rivalries over the years.
A 2-2 draw was the result of a prior encounter back in November and both sides will be looking to solidify their league positions, with the west-enders trailing leaders Devonshire Colts by a single point.
There was a bit of controversy at Village last week before their FA Cup tie with Dandy Town.
Village had flown in Bermuda national squad goalkeeper Dwayne Adams for the match only to have present 'keeper Cymande Davis balk at having to play a reserve role, which resulted in Adams spending the entire match on the sidelines in a 2-0 loss.
Meanwhile, tonight has PHC entertaining Hamilton Parish (9 p.m.), who have all but booked a return flight to the Second Division.
In fact Parish have looked like relegation certainties since midway through the first half and it will surprise no one if the floodgates open for PHC.
Remaining matches have St. David's clashing with Boulevard at the east end and St. George's playing hosts to Devonshire Colts.
