Michel Dupre will speak on 19th Century French painting at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute auditorium.
Dr. Dupre is a specialist in French architecture and a professor of art history at the Sorbonne.
Dr. Dupre, who described his own artwork as a link between his private life and social life, is on the Island for one week.
The lecture is being hosted by La Maison Francaise des Bermudes and The Masterworks Foundation.
La Maison Francaise director and founder Riquette Bonne Smith explained that by co-hosting Dr. Dupre's visit, La Maison Francaise hoped to promote French culture on the Island.
"Art is a language that brings people together... a common language,'' said Mrs. Bonne Smith. The lecture and slide presentation, which will last from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., will be given in French and translated into English by Tourism Director Gary Phillips.
