Horace Landy, of Junction Lane in Devonshire, pleaded guilty to the offence which occurred on October 26, on Middle Road in Southampton.
When asked by Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis why he was doing such a high speed, the 28-year-old Landy looked down and said: "I was trying to catch a North Village football game.'' Landy also pleaded guilty to charges of driving an unlicensed and uninsured car on September 16 on Glebe Road in Pembroke. Mr. Francis fined him $150 for those offences.
