The pair helped their team, which also featured players from Trinidad, Barbados, Jamaica and Martinique, win four matches out of five at the Henley International Invitational Sevens.
Rugby West Indies missed out on reaching the final only by virtue of points difference after beating Hayward's Heath 24-22, Loughborough University 24-12, Five Horseshoes 26-22 and Old Corlians 17-12. Their only defeat came against finalists Crusaders, by 36-10.
Hurdle and Cassidy were both in fine form and were not replaced in any of the five games in what is an exhausting form of rugby.
