Florida, Bermuda's ladies had to settle for fourth place in both the net and gross divisions.

The 10-strong team, headed by captain Shirley James, had led the net event by three strokes after the opening round on the Boca Raton Resort and Golf Club, and were placed second in the gross division.

But the second day's play last Thursday saw Bermuda slip down the standings with Katyna Rabain firing the team's best net score of 72 followed by Ann Symonds and Judith Kitson (both 73).

Kitson and Valerie Nearon returned the top gross scores of 86 while Pat Morgan carded 89.

The Island team fought back in the final round on Friday with Symonds shooting the low net score of the day, 67. Rabain chipped in with a 69 and Susan Holland a 73, while Holland had the best gross score of 86 followed by Morgan and Nearon (both 88).

However, the final results saw Ocean Reef collect the Bermuda Bowl as the tournament's low net team with a combined score of 630. Two shots back were Puerto Rico on 632 followed by South West Florida (634) and Bermuda (635).

South East Florida lifted the Balandra Cup for best gross score with a combined total of 741. Jamaica placed second on 755, Ocean Reef third on 768 and Bermuda fourth on 775.

Gilda Furbert earned some consolation for Bermuda, winning a long drive contest on Thursday.

Top individual performers were Ocean Reef's Betty Ahnert who returned net scores of 69-62-73 and Liz Findley of SW Florida who had the best gross card of 84-83-75.
