Sad ending for Vasco, Rangers
losses yesterday as Vasco went down to Prospect at Police field and Rangers crashed at home to Port Royal.
The results meant there was no change in the top two places in the standings with Vasco winning the division by two points despite their 2-1 loss to Shield finalists Prospect.
Tracy Adams gave Prospect the lead in the 39th minute when he caught the Vasco goalkeeper off his line from 15 yards. Kirk Saunders made it 2-0 five minutes into the second half but Prospect suffered a major setback in the buildup to their Shield final against BAA when Dwayne Leverock was sent off in the 76th minute for retaliating after being fouled by Earl Richardson.
Four minutes later Vasco pulled one back through Paul Towlson. A Michael Bean goal midway through the first half gave Port Royal a deserved 1-0 win over Southampton Rangers at Southampton Oval. The goal was created by a cross from the right by former Rangers player Clinarke Dill, with Bean left with a simple tap-in after 'keeper Bernie Woods dropped the ball.
Devonshire Cougars beat Social Club 1-0 on a Troy Smith goal midway through the second half. Cougars started the match with nine players before two more players came in the first half.
BAA and Paget drew 2-2 at BAA field. BAA, who missed a penalty thorugh Robert Pacheco, scored through Shawn Dill (penalty) and Leo Simmons to lead 2-0 at the half.
Anthony Stovell got one of the Paget goals.
Wolves won their match against Somerset Eagles by default after Eagles showed up at Devonshire Rec. without their player ID cards.
