Shawn Albouy, 27, of Clarendon Road, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court last week to assaulting Nadia Dublin.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor said Albouy was $1,200 in debt to Miss Dublin for selling her motorbike.

Albouy had agreed to repay her in increments of $200, and told her he would drive her to work until the debt was paid and she could buy another motorbike.

Sgt. Taylor said Albouy was taking Miss Dublin to work on the morning of July 1 when the two began arguing.

Albouy stopped the car on Canal Road, Pembroke and ordered Miss Dublin to get out.

When she refused, he grabbed her by the shoulder and pulled her out of the car.

She attempted to retrieve her possessions, but Albouy pushed her to the ground. Senior Magistrate Will Francis ordered Albouy to pay a $500 fine.
