Richardson's century highlights 3-2 record
win and a loss in their last two matches.
On Saturday, thanks to Jeff Richardson's brilliant 112 not out, they romped to their most impressive win when they beat St. Catherine by seven wickets.
Scores: St. Catherine 235 (49.5 overs), Bermuda 237 for three (41.1).
Yesterday, Bermuda, after winning the toss and sending their opponents in on a hot day, crashed to their second defeat of the five-match tour when they lost by 86 runs to the Barbados Under-23 team.
Scores: Barbados Under-23s 265 for six (50 overs), Bermuda 179 (39.4 overs).
The highlight of Bermuda's brief tour of Barbados was Richardson's century on Saturday as he paced Bermuda to an impressive win after being set 236 for victory and losing the early wicket of Ricky Hill for three.
Anthony (Pacer) Edwards was the pick of the Bermuda bowlers, taking three for 37 while youngster Jermaine Outerbridge took two for 48, Noel Gibbons two for 38 and Arnold Manders two for 35.
Bermuda scored their runs at 5.76 an over as Richardson shared in two important stands -- the first one of 95 with captain Albert Steede for the third wicket and then with Western Stars team-mate Arnold Manders as they put on an unbeaten 88 for the fourth wicket.
Opener Dennis Archer scored a patient 20 after the loss of Hill and Steede kept Bermuda on course with 59 while Manders supported Richardson with an unbeaten 25.
Steede, winning the toss for the fifth time, sent the Barbados Under-23s in to bat and was made to toil in the heat as they raced to 265 for six in their allotted 50 overs with Floyd Reifer leading the way with 54.
Barbados scored 63 runs off the last five overs and Edwards in particular came in for some harsh treatment as he gave up 68 runs without taking a wicket.
Arnold Manders led the Bermuda bowling with two for 53 while Jermaine Outerbridge claimed one for 34, Clevie Wade one for 35 and Noel Gibbons one for 34.
Asked to score at a rate of 5.32 an over, Bermuda were at 87 for four at one stage after Hill (nine), Archer (18), Richardson (four), Arnold Manders (17), Gibbons (10) all went cheaply amongst the top order.
Steede hit a typical captain's innings with 49 before he was run out one run short of his second straight half-century as he chased a quick single while batting with Wade who was next high man with 22.
JEFF RICHARDSON -- Blasted an unbeaten 112 against St. Catherine on Saturday.
