Town bank on Vasco help for Dudley Eve spot
of Colts into fourth place in the Premier Division standings.
Now they face an anxious wait to see if they can stay there as Colts get one more chance to qualify for the Christmas holiday Dudley Eve double elimination tournament this Friday when they meet Vasco in a make-up match.
Town, last year's beaten finalists, had to beat Colts to stay in contention for the Dudley Eve... now Colts have to win against Vasco.
A draw would put them level on 14 points with Town but Town, with a better goal difference, would qualify.
While Vasco, who climbed to second spot with victory over St. David's yesterday, are already through, they won't be treating the game lightly as they have the opportunity to close the gap between themselves and leaders PHC to just a point. The Zebras suffered their first league loss when they went down to Wolves 1-0.
Somerset blew their chance to qualify when they went down 2-1 at home to Southampton Rangers. Victory would have put them fourth, ahead of Town and with a chance for the last Dudley Eve spot. Instead they find themselves languishing just two points above the relegation zone.
