Goater's double delight

Manchester City beat Chester City, bottom of the English Third Division, 4-1 in the third round of the English FA Cup.

But the result was not as convincing as the scoreline suggests as City's last three goals came in the final 12 minutes, including two in injury time, to put paid to a stubborn Chester in front of their home fans.

Goater nipped in behind a hesistant Chester defence to break the deadlock in the 18th minute. Captain Nick Richardson equalised for Chester eight minutes later.

Ian Bishop put City back in front in the 78th minute with a classic header before Goater polished off a good move in injury time to make it 3-1. The scoring was completed with an own goal by Chester a minute later.

City are now at home to Premier Division leaders Leeds United in the fourth round on the weekend of January 8-9.
