of $340 in Magistrates' Court last week.

Clarence Mark Burrows, 16, of Southampton, pleaded guilty to driving a motorcycle while underage, speeding at 56 kilometres per hour and making false statements to Police.

Prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy said Burrows sped through radar on Dutton Avenue in Pembroke at about 11 p.m. on March 20. He gave a false name when asked and a ticket was issued in that name, Insp. Duffy said.

Police discovered later that the name the Warwick Secondary School student had given was false.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis fined Burrows $100 for driving underage, $90 for speeding and $150 for making false statements.

Burrows was given lower fines because he is still a student.
