Stock Exchange Index closed down 3.63 points to 1,792.38 on a volume of 61,105 by Friday.

Bank of Butterfield shares were the most active issue, while Bank of Bermuda stock lost ground. Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd., the owner of The Royal Gazette jumped $2.25 or 34 percent.

Bank of Butterfield gained 25 cents to close at $17.50 as 19,694 shares traded.

The Bank of Bermuda lost 75 cents on volume of 15,189 to close at $36.

Two thousand Argus shares gained 25 cents, ending at $17.25.

A gain of $2.25 was seen at Bermuda Press Holdings as 13,000 shares closed at $8.75.

Belco shares lost $1 as 10,900 shares were traded at a final price of $20.

KeyTech Holdings Ltd., owner of Bermuda Telephone Company and Logic Communications Ltd., closed up $1.50 at $34 on volume of 230 shares.
