Wolves 2 Social Club 0
either side of the interval proved enough to dispose of an inept Social Club outfit.
A converted penalty by Casey Burgess in the 15th minute initiated the Wolves charge as they ruled the roost at Devonshire Rec.
Added to that was a 65th minute strike from Tory Davis which sealed an affair that never looked in doubt for the home team.
Social Club, a team some expect to eventually challenge for promotion to the First Division, looked anything but contenders as they failed to produce the form anticipated.
It was a marked change for Wolves, who played in near perfect harmony after being better known in recent times for infighting among players rather than on-field battles.
Prospect 0 St. David's 0 The inability to convert chances into tangible reward cost visiting St.
David's two points as they allowed Prospect to escape with a share of the spoils from this match at Police Field.
A multitude of missed opportunities by the Islanders' front-runners cost coach Andrew Bascome's charges dearly, and they should have easily run their opponents off the pitch.
In a hard fought contest matching Bascome's more skilful and younger players against a plodding Prospect team relying more upon experience and guts, the visitors dominated the lion's share of play but were constantly thwarted by poor finishing.
Devonshire Cougars 2 Paget 2 A stunning late burst by Paget robbed home team Devonshire Cougars of two points as the revived visitors announced new intentions for the 1995-96 season.
Normally the whipping boys of the Second Division, Paget, bolstered by new additions Dale Russell and Terrence Christopher, showed that they no longer can be counted on to roll over in honour of higher regarded opponents.
After Jamal Salaam had placed Cougars in front with a 15th minute penalty and Phillip Clarke added another goal early in the second half the outlook appeared bleak for Paget.
However, Christopher sliced the deficit in half in the 77th minute and Juan Talbot assured the Ord Road side a share of the spoils when he netted from the penalty spot two minutes later.
BAA 2 Ham. Parish 2 BAA, back in the Second Division after one season in the top flight, were forced to share the points with Hamilton Parish in their season-opener at BAA Field.
Steve Gair and Brian Cook scored for BAA with Joe Lathan and Glenn Smith replying for Parish.
