Senators send condolences to family of Minors
The 22-year-old man was killed in a car accident in Canada last month.
Sen. Yvette Swan (UBP) said Minors, whose father is a former Senator, was a very special young man.
Condolences were also sent to the family of the late Mr. Clinton Ingham, who she described as a very resourceful person who could "do anything with very little''.
Sen. Swan (UBP) also sent condolences to the family of the late Mr. Vernell Adams who was a prison officer who was recently promoted to principal officer.
Sen. Neletha Butterfield (PLP) sent condolences to the late Mrs. Gilda Bean's family and said Mrs. Bean was a dedicated majorette leader. Meanwhile, she praised the late MacDonald White for his work as a teacher and counsellor at the Adult Education School, and sent congratulations to trade union activist Dr. Barbara Ball and the Bermuda Electric Company for their work in race relations.
Both were recently honoured at the National Association for Reconciliation's banquet.
Sen. Butterfield (PLP) also praised the Police Community Services department for their awards to 18 young Bermudians.
Sen. the Hon. Gerald Simons (UBP) sent condolences to the families of the late Russell Levi Pearman and the late Hon. Ernest Vesy.
He also praised the Bermuda Union of Teachers on its 75 anniversary.
Sen. Gary Pitman asked that condolences be sent to the family of the late businesswoman Joan Mcphee.
Sen. Norma Astwood (Ind) asked that congratulations be sent to the Bermuda Girl Guides Association on its 75th anniversary, while Sen. Alf Oughton sent congratulations to Bermuda Karate Institute Instructor Gladwin Phillips on his recent first place at the World Karate Championships in Argentina.
Sen. Terry Lister asked that condolences be sent to the family of the late Sylvia Cholmondley who he said worked tirelessly for the Progressive Labour Party.
Meanwhile Sen. Lister sent congratulations to nine long serving PLP workers they were: Iona Maxwell, Rosealie Davis, Clarkston Tankard, Vivian Simmons, Isole Wade, Gloria Wade, Ismay Philip and Betty Gilbert.
