Top musicians honoured
ceremony outside the House of Assembly on Friday.
The community excellence awards for outstanding achievements to people from Hamilton Parish mark the first in a series of awards that will be presented monthly until December.
Organiser Melvin Aleick, chairman of the PLP Hamilton Parish branch, said the awards were organised to encourage unity, peace and a community spirit.
The winners of the awards were Carlton Welsh Jr., better know as Junior C, Gary Bean of Apex 4 and the Bethel AME Church family choir and Stephen Hinds of Exotique.
On hand to present the awards were Hamilton Parish MPs Arthur Hodgson, Derrick Burgess and Randolph Horton.
Future awards will focus on different aspects of Hamilton Parishioners' lives including sport, art and charity.
