WindReach now officially open for business

WindReach Recreational Village on Spice Hill Road in Warwick was officially opened on Friday afternoon.

A host of dignitaries were on hand to celebrate the event and tour the facility.

WindReach Bermuda has been modelled on the hugely successful WindReach farm in Canada which was developed by Bermudian philanthropist Sandy Mitchell. It is an operation dedicated to the educational, recreational and work experience needs of peopleof all ages and abilities.

The Warwick facility has an equestrian centre, a petting zoo, a playground, picnic area and a sensory trail. A campground is still being worked on but plans are to have it open by next Spring.

The WindReach Bermuda trust was founded seven years ago after Mr. Mitchell had successfully set up his Canadian project.

As well as providing a base for other activities the new centre can be used for classes, lectures, teaching displays and general social events.
