Eighty-six people who formed the core group of staff when the hotel first opened its doors in 1986 were given awards.
Tourism director Gary Phillips delivered a keynote address at the banquet that was also attended by Tourism Minister David Dodwell, BIU chief Derrick Burgess and John Harvey of the Bermuda Hotel Association.
Marriott's also selected the Sunshine League, a short term home for Bermuda's children in need, as its official charity and donated a fax machine.
Later on this week the hotel is putting on a special luncheon for all its staff and associates.
