Their adopted bluebirds have made another nest, and have started a new clutch of eggs.

The pair of bluebirds at St. David's Primary School were the only ones this year to use the school's trail of nest boxes.

Last week, children were in tears after discovering the five eggs in the nest had been stolen.

But now they are overjoyed to find the birds have picked a new nest and are laying eggs again.

"I'm pleased to report that the bluebirds have re-located in another nest in a different part of the school property,'' said head teacher Mr. Eddie Wright.

"There are three eggs in there and over the weekend they will probably lay the full complement of five.

"We have only had one pair of the birds around the school all year, so I'm pretty sure it's the same pair.

"It seems they've got over their trauma.

"I just announced it to the assembly, and everybody was as happy as can be.''
