Bermuda Youth Soccer Cup which is scheduled to kick off on Monday, the Bermuda Football Association yesterday revealed.

The visiting teams hail from different sides of the Atlantic Ocean with Millfield being a school team based in Somerset, England and the other is W.S.

Elite, an American club team from Pennsylvania.

The two teams will be included in the four different age groups in which the tournament will be divided. Millfield will participate in the Under-19 division and the Elite team in the Under-16.

The other two categories are the Under-14 and Under-12, both of which will see all local teams competing against each other.

BFA officials expressed their delight in having foreign teams involved once again with Mark Trott claiming that because of the impact of the recession it was impossible to bring any teams here a year ago. They were also happy to have Lanzera sponsor the event for the first time.

"Thanks to Wayne Smith of the Department of Tourism that we have been able to bring in at least two teams this year,'' said Trott.

Millfield will arrive in the island tomorrow while the Elite team is scheduled to come on Sunday. Millfield participated in the inaugural tournament in 1989 while it will be the first visit by the American team.

The tournament will see day games played at Berkeley for the Under-12 and Under-14 teams and at Bernard Park and BAA for the Under-16 and Under-19 teams. Night fixtures involving all age groups will take place at both BAA and PHC.

After the opening ceremony on Monday at the National Stadium at 5.30 p.m.

there will be an opening double-header involving teams in the Under-12 age group at 6.45 p.m. and in the Under-14 at 8 p.m. The first game has North Village playing Somerset CC and the second is a match-up between Devonshire Colts and PHC.

The local teams being represented in the tournament are: Hamilton Parish (Under-12), Devonshire Colts (Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, Under-19), North Village (Under-12, Under-14, Under-16), Somerset CC (Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, Under-19) and PHC (Under-14, Under-19).
