The man, who lives on Horseshoe Road, is believed to have been preparing to take a trip to the United States.

Sometime between Tuesday evening and Wednesday lunchtime, a thief climbed in through an insecure window and ransacked several drawers in the house.

Police are not revealing the identity of the victim.
