Ms Sharon Beesley, also an avid horse-rider, has lived and worked all over the world, including Hong Kong, London and South Africa.

She cycled from England to Israel with her friend Ms Audette Exel, who was also admitted to the Bermuda Bar recently.

Born in Canada, Ms Beesley was educated in England. In 1978 she received a law degree with honours at the University of Westminster. Afterwards she attended the Chester College of Law.

The 36-year-old gained her Masters Degree with honours from Cambridge University.

She has lived in Bermuda for a year, working at the law firm of Milligan-Whyte & Smith in international finance law.

Fellow lawyer, Mr. Ian Kawaley said Ms Beesley's work in Bermuda had been exemplary. "She is a fit and proper person to be admitted to the Bar,'' he added.
