Dickinson followed through with a pledge to protest after finishing second to Rudy Bailey in Monday's annual long distance comet race from St. George's to Dockyard, claiming that Bailey tacked too close to him and forced him to alter his course to avoid a collision.

Simmons said that although Dickinson filed the protest some 48 hours after the race finished, plans to stage the hearing would proceed. But when the meeting would take place was undetermined, he said.
