Women's mag chief visits
discuss economic issues facing women.
Deborah Armstrong, associate publisher of "Working Woman Magazine'', arrived on the Island last Sunday at the invitation of the women's research and development group, Akinstall International.
The company focuses on the economic agenda of women's issues and is accredited to the United Nations' Advancement of Women division.
Ms Armstrong yesterday addressed an invitation-only audience at the Sonesta Beach Hotel on how to target the international business market for women, the role it would play, and Bermuda as a major business/resort destination for women's conferences.
Chief Executive Officer of Akinstall International Valirie Akinstall described women's conferences as an "established, yet untapped market of tourism''.
During Ms Armstrong's six-day visit she is expected to discuss the business environment for women, the opportunities and interests of Bermudian women, and profile key professional women and women's groups.
She will also speak at a luncheon and workshop at the Sonesta Beach Hotel on Saturday, beginning at 11.30 a.m.
