Turnaround for Celebrity
results, part-owner Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. (OSG), said yesterday.
For the three months ended June 30, Celebrity made $1 million compared to a $1.4 million loss in second quarter 1995.
Celebrity operates the Zenith and Meridian which sail to Bermuda.
Quarter revenues were $100.9 million compared to $73.7 million, an increase of 38 percent.
Costs rose 34 percent to $100.9 million from $75.1 million.
But for the half-year, Celebrity was in the red.
The company lost $4.5 million compared to $4 million for the same six months in 1995.
Half-year revenues were $196.5 million compared to $138.6 million, an increase of 42 percent.
Costs were $201 million compared to $142.5 million, up 42 percent.
Assets declined to $470.9 million from $475.4 million.
Overall, OSG second quarter results improved significantly.
OSG made $3.1 million compared to $6 million loss earlier.
Quarter shipping revenues were $115.8 compared to $92.5 million.
For the six months ending June 30, OSG reported net income of $8.4 million compared to a $9.3 million loss.
Half-year shipping revenues were $241.7 million compared to $199.5 million.
