Govt. to issue rallying call in Parliament
Assembly reconvenes.
With last week's defection of Grace Bell the Government's slim majority has been reduced to one.
Party whip Rick Spurling is also off the Island, attending his daughter's graduation ceremony, but with the Opposition's Jimmy Williams also still sidelined Government will hang onto its majority -- as long as all MPs manage to turn up. Newly appointed Transport Minister Erwin Adderley will make his first address in his new role in the House of Assembly today.
Politicians are set to discuss a paper entitled `Strategies to Improve Transportation, Mobility, Road Safety and Emissions as Bermuda Enters the 21st Century'.
The thorough paper, prepared by former Transport Minister Wayne Furbert, earlier this year, puts forward recommendations to improve all modes of transport on the Island. MPs will also be voting on The Development and Planning Amendment Act.
