Airline adds Boston flight
A story in Friday's paper about American Airlines adding a direct flight to Boston should have said the number of direct flights from Boston next summer will be two, not three. Only Delta and American will operate on the route.
Another direct flight to Boston will be added to the Island's roster next summer, a delighted Tourism Minister David Dodwell announced yesterday.
American Airlines will fly from Boston to Bermuda daily, beginning in March and will continue throughout the summer until October.
Mr. Dodwell said: "We could not be more delighted that this has become a reality.
"American Airlines and Bermuda have a long-standing relationship and we see this added service as an enhancement of that relationship to say nothing of the added convenience to potential visitors from our key New England market.'' It will bring the number of daily flights from Boston to Bermuda to three -- as this summer both USAir and Delta operated on the route. Delta is continuing to operate over the winter.
American Airlines, which last had a schedule on the route in 1991, will announce further details about the new service soon.
