Consumer prices on average increased 0.3 percent, as the all-items index rose from 107.9 points in June to 108.2 in July.

The transport & vehicles sector reported the largest monthly increase of 1.5 percent, due partially to higher repair and maintenance costs for cars (up 2.5 percent) and cycles (up 7.2 percent). Additionally, airfare prices climbed eight percent from the previous month.

Fuel & power rose 0.9 percent, as the cost of electricity advanced 1.1 percent, partially offset by the 1.5 percent decrease in the cost of propane and heating fuel.

A rise in alcohol prices moved the liquor & alcohol sector up 0.2 percent, as the cost of wine and beer each rose moderately.

The rental sector also rose 0.1 percent.

All other sectors of the index remained unchanged.
