Forte Hotels has denied reports it has any agreement to sell the Harmony Club in Paget to a Nova Scotia businessman.

"A Mr. Raymond Brow has made two offers to purchase the property and both offers were refused,'' Harmony general manager Mr. Williams Griffiths said.

"There is no agreement between Mr. Brow and Forte Hotels and therefore this gentleman is not in any position to publicly discuss the future plans for this hotel.

"Mr Brow did not have any serious discussions with anyone in the company, contrary to his suggested public statements.'' Earlier this week, VSB Radio reported Mr. Brow was planning to buy the hotel for use by senior citizens.

Mr. Griffiths said Forte has written to Mr. Brow asking him to refrain from making any statements about Harmony.

"We felt it appropriate at this time to publicly state complete disassociation with Mr. Brow and any statements which he has made.

"We want to apologise to our employees and clients for the obvious distress this may have caused.

"We also want to again emphasise Forte Hotels' commitment to this country.''
