Bermuda Police increased security after receiving two telephone threats against the Queen.

The threats came on Wednesday morning before the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh visited Bermuda College.

Public relations officer Sgt. Roseanda Jones said: "We can confirm that telephone calls threatening the safety of the Queen were received on Wednesday morning.

"We took the threats seriously and additional steps were put in place to ensure the safety of the Queen.'' Sgt. Jones said overall the visit had gone extremely well. She added that Commissioner of Police Mr. Lennett (Lennie) Edwards had praised Police officers involved in the visit.
