E-commerce conference a sell-out The public's desire to learn more about the world of e-commerce is so great, that an upcoming two-day conference has sold

E-Commerce Conference Bermuda 1999 will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday, October 12 and 13 at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.

The event, which is intended to raise awareness about e-commerce and its relevance to the Island, is sponsored by the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, ISACA and Logic Communications.

"We sold out of the conference very, very quickly said Melanie Burns of Logic Communications. "We are expecting about 150 people and we have delegates coming from Paris, Trinidad and Jamaica.

The Chamber of Commerce's divisional co-ordinator, Robin Trimingham, said the tremendous demand for next week's conference has prompted the Chamber to hold additional workshops in November and December covering topics like establishing web site project goals, expanding web traffic and overcoming the challenge of e-commerce business marketing. The second conference will address product distribution concerns and developing cross border e-business strategies.

"We will be sending out a flyer to our members regarding the workshops,'' noted Ms Trimingham.

Anyone interested in registering for the workshops, which will cost $50 per day, should contact the Chamber of Commerce at 295-4201 or e-mail: bcc3 y ibl.bm
