DeSilva stuns Butterfield
tournament so far when she ousted top seed Gill Butterfield from the ladies A singles draw.
The 15-year-old, who turns 16 next week, blew her experienced opponent off the court to win 6-1, 6-1 and reach tomorrow's final against Laverne Stowe.
Afterwards DeSilva, one of the country's brightest young tennis starlets, said it had been her best ever victory.
"I played my best tennis,'' said the youngster. "I played smart and patient and I'm pleased with myself.
"I lost the first game because I'm used to a much faster pace than she (Butterfield) plays at. If I play as well as that again, I've got a really good chance in the final.'' DeSilva won the ladies B tournament at Pomander gate last year and has been a semi-finalist in the Colonial Open.
Focused: Zarah DeSilva.
