Guy Carpenter & Company has appointment Joseph Vitale as senior vice president of GCFac, the firm's dedicated facultative reinsurance unit. Based in New York, he will focus on both strategic and tactical operations management, working closely with Guy Carpenter's facultative team on the design, operation and improvement of client and service delivery systems.

"As a senior member of the team and a specialist in operational strategy, Joseph's knowledge and insight will be critical in helping set the unit's direction while further expanding our facultative capabilities," said John Trace, managing director and Head of US Casualty Facultative Operations, GCFac.

Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, Mr. Vitale, 39, was US team leader for Facultative Solutions at Benfield. He began his reinsurance career at Sedgwick Re.
