Roads to close for Labour Day events

And from 8.45 a.m. until 9.15 a.m., Union Street will be closed between North Street and Dundonald Street.

The race organised by Swan's Running Club begins at 9 a.m. at the Transport Control Department on North Street.

Approximately 80 to 100 runners are expected to participate.

The route will pass east on North Street, south on Union Street, east on Victoria Street, south on King Street, west on Front Street, continuing onto Pitt's Bay Road, then west on St. John's Road, east on North Shore Road, south on Black Watch Pass, west on Marsh Folly Road, south on Cedar Avenue, east on Victoria Street, north on Union Street, and finishing at Union Square.

At about 9.30 a.m. a gathering will take place at Union Square. And a prize presentation and speeches will take place following the conclusion of the road race.

About 1,000 people are expected to participate in the union march which begins at 11.30 a.m.

The Bermuda Regiment Band will lead the group south along Union Street, west on Victoria Street, south on Court Street, west on Front Street, north on Queen Street, east on Church Street, north on Cedar Avenue, east on Marsh Folly Road, south on Dutton Avenue, and into Bernard Park.
