Last weekend the numbers arriving at the airport had risen by 10 percent over the same weekend in 1991. The total number of arrivals was 5,666 -- an increase of 515 on 1991.

Over the whole month the figures rose by a total of 2,640, which is 11.2 percent higher than last November.

However, numbers of weekly arrivals continue to fall on a week by week basis as winter approaches.
