was found guilty of breaking, entering and theft in Magistrates' Court yesterday, and sentenced to seven months in jail.

The court heard that Cyril Tucker of no fixed abode had a "certain affinity for breaking into a certain hospital'', but had recently switched his attention to the Devonshire school.

Sgt. Earl Kirby, prosecuting, said Police had been asked by Friendship Vale administration to check the premises each night, because of previous break-ins.

At 3.15 on Wednesday morning, officers on patrol discovered a broken kitchen window at the school, and saw Tucker sleeping on the floor inside. He was roused, and taken into custody.

Police also found a radio, glue, pens, a loaf of bread, and other items in his carry bag, which had been removed from the school.

Tucker told Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis that all he wanted was a place to sleep.

"I couldn't sleep on the grass,'' said Tucker. "That just doesn't make any sense.''
