Library offers free cards

Head Librarian Joanne Brangman said both new and replacement cards will be issued at no charge at all sections of the library during September which is National Library Card Sign-Up Month.

Library users of all ages are also eligible for weekly prizes when they get a new card or use their existing one.

They will be asked to fill out a form or drop off a business card and at the end of each week during the month there will be a drawing held.

A grand prize drawing will be held in October with prizes for adults and children. There will also be a prize for the school with the greatest percentage of students signing up for a new library card.

Also announced yesterday were the new opening hours of the library as of September 7.

The main library will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Thursday; from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday; and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The youth library will follow a similar time table, except from Monday to Thursday when it will open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
