Terminal for allegedly bringing in a handgun and ammunition, The Royal Gazette has learned.

The alleged handgun is believed to be a silver and black handled .22 calibre weapon found in his luggage.

Fourteen rounds of ammunition were also found.

Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning refused to confirm the details.

He would only say that Police arrested a man on suspicion of gun and ammunition possession and that the man was bailed and will appear in Magistrates' court soon.

Jones is the International Boxing Federation middleweight champion.

He arrived on a flight from Atlanta around 5 p.m.

It is believed Jones, who on Friday successfully defended his title against challenger Thomas Tate in Las Vegas, arrived to help coach a team of five boxers from the United States Navy.

The navy team is training for a competition scheduled for July 17 in St.

George's.

Boxers from the St. George's and St. David's cricket clubs will provide the opposition for the Navy.

Jones, who was born in Pensacola, Florida rose to prominence during the 1988 summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea.

During those games he lost a controversial decision and had to settle for a silver medal.

Despite the loss he won the Val Barker trophy for outstanding boxer.
