Bank branch goes hi-tech

The new branch on the Waterfront Complex allows customers to carry out transactions remotely with tellers.
A release from the Bank of Butterfield explained: "This new concept in retail banking consists of three walk-up customer stations with a state-of-the-art two-way audio-video communication system, allowing customers to receive interactive services from tellers in a remote location.'', Video display systems will provide up-to-the-minute news information while transactions are being processed.
The new Waterfront branch will have a branch manager and personal banking representative on hand during the week. Services available from the new outlet will include, chequing, savings, credit cards, certificates of deposit, ATM debit cards and a 24-hour deposit-taking ATM.
