Really elegant, classy and aimed at the over 30s
Parties will be kicking on the South Shore and Utopia “A Perfect Setting”, which is a collaboration between Zodiac Inc. and Smooth Entertainment will offer just that. The two groups are promising an elegant and exciting evening New Year’s Eve extravaganza, which is set to take place at Aqua, Ariel Sands.
Stephen Squire and Janson Cross of Zodiac Inc. and Arthur (Smooth or Gussie) Godwin of Smooth Entertainment spoke to The Royal Gazette <$>about how they came to collaborate and what their New Year’s Eve Party would entail. “It is going to be a really elegant and classy event, although people will still have a good time,” explained Mr. Cross.
“It is going to be an over-30s crowd and everyone will be dressed up really nice.
“We are trying to create an atmosphere for the over 30s crowd, because many times when you see a New Year’s Eve event there are a lot of people who are 18 and up.
“Most of us are over 30 and when we go out we want to be in a crowd that is nice and mature without any type of ignorance going on. So that is what we are trying to cater to and we want to provide an atmosphere where people can still let off, dress up and feel that they are in a safe environment, whilst listening to good music.
“We want everything done to perfection and it is going to be service-orientated. When people enter the hotel, there will be people there to open doors for them and we are trying to create that ambience to set in the New Year.”
The music will be played by Deforest (D-Nice) Evans and Vince (Shock-N-Lust) Savery and China & Bussy.
“The music will span throughout the 80s, 90s and some more modern music,” said Mr. Cross.
“It will be more old school music and that is important.”
The New Year’s Eve event almost did not happen, but in October Zodiac Inc. had thrown a party at the same venue and the response, which was excellent spurred the organisers to one, collaborate and two, thrown the NYE Party of all parties.
“Many of the people at that event hadn’t been out for a long time and when they came to that party and saw that they had such a great time,”said Mr. Squire.
“It was just good for us to hear that, because we wasn’t going to do a New Year’s Eve event, but also collaborating with Smooth whose parties are always decorated up really nice and with a great crowd. And at New Year’s Eve a lot of promoters are competing for the same sort of crowd, so rather than competing head to head, we decided to collaborate and put on a phenomenal event.”
Mr. Godwin said that at the October party he saw people there that he had not seen out on the party scene for years.
“The music was strictly on an over 30s level,” he said.
“So picture this, you want to be in an event where there is a whole pile of nonsense, you want to be comfortable. When I do my events I also have Simply Beautiful, who will be designing the event.
“Service is always important where women are concerned and when they are having doors opened to bring you into an event — it creates an atmosphere.
“And where the women are, the guys will be.”
The event will take place in several rooms and the patio will be available for smokers.
“A lot of people also like to smoke cigars on New Year’s Eve, so there is a place for them,” added Mr. Squire.
“There will also be a champagne toast at midnight and we will also make sure that patrons are aware of the countdown, so that everyone will be ready to toast with a drink in their hand.
“There will also be a VIP lounge and NYE party favours.”
