Banks are the busiest
The banking and utility sectors proved to be the most active in a busy day's trading on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.
BELCO Holdings Ltd. saw their share price plummet $1.25 (5.7 percent) to close down at $20.50 as 500 shares were traded.
Meanwhile KeyTech Ltd. boosted their share value by 50 cents (4.2 percent), to finish up at $12.50, with 1,200 shares changing hands.
LOM Holdings Ltd. also enjoyed a successful day's trading, as they closed on $4 per share, an increase of 25 cents (6.7 percent), and 1,000 shares were traded.
But Butterfield Bank's share price continued to slide, this time down five cents (0.2 percent) to finish on $20.15. A total of 30,106 shares changed hands.
The only other company to experience any change was Bermuda Container Line Ltd., as their share value rose five cents (0.3 percent), with 400 shares traded, to close on $14.55.
Overall, however, the Index was down 15.80 points (0.31 percent) at 5,088.66 with $689,921 worth of 36,270 shares traded.
The BSX Insurance Index, in contrast, closed up at 1,225.96, representing a change of 0.44 percent.
