Prison officers are likely to call off their work to rule today and engage in mediation with Government.
Craig Clarke, chairman of the Prison Officers' Association (POA) said a general meeting of members will see the matter put to a vote. He anticipates that it will go in favour of further talks.
The 220-strong POA has been refusing since Monday to work overtime, in protest at 16 months of salary negotiations ending in stalemate.
