Women's group brings cheer to seniors
In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, the women and children of the Phenomenal Women Inc., Bermuda charity visited The Elder Home Care facility for seniors on December 15.
The aim was to share the holiday spirit with residents and staff, said Margaret Giloth, president of Phenomenal Women Inc., Bermuda.
"The group was loaded down with gifts of personal care items that were donated by generous members and supporters," she said. "We sang our hearts out; and it gave us such pleasure to witness the enjoyment that the residents got from singing their favourite carols. We were all truly blessed!"
This event marked the organisation's second annual carol singing event at The Elder Home Care on North Shore Road in Devonshire.
"This year, we donned our signature T-shirts and purple 'phenomenal' Santa hats," stated Mrs. Giloth.
Phenomenal Women is a registered charity whose mission is to empower women and families.
"We host special events and workshops that relay the message of self awareness, self development and personal empowerment," said Mrs. Giloth.
"Our Eagles Wings Ministry is a support group that meets each Monday evening and hosts a 12 Step Study group from 5.30 to 7 p.m. and a general support meeting from 7 until 8 p.m. on the same evenings."
