Pamplin protests too muchSeptember 7, 2007Dear Sir,

Pamplin protests too much

September 7, 2007

Dear Sir,

With respect to the Dennis Pamplin affair, it was reported in your newspaper that Mr. Pamplin conveyed to his daughter after his release that: "to all the haters that are out there I am out and all the charges have been dropped."

Frankly, Mr. Pamplin protests way too much, after all, the only person, at least publicly who could be termed a "hater" in this matter, happened to be his own wife, who surely in the eyes of the public was quite prepared to place her own political career and her party before him and her family, as evidenced by the comments of Mrs. Gordon Pamplin's, carried in your newspaper the day after the story broke.

To be honest, Mrs. Gordon Pamplin's behaviour did betray a somewhat mercenary streak, but for many of us who have been observing her over the years it was no surprise.
