Jacobi may be fit for one-dayers

All-rounder Jacobi Robinson could return to Bermuda's line-up for tomorrow's first ODI with the Netherlands at the VOC Cricket Club in Hazelaarweg, Rotterdam, writes Colin Thompson.

Robinson injured his right shoulder while fielding against the Danes in a friendly in Denmark on August 9, and since then has received hospital scans and ongoing treatment from team physiotherapists Craig Brown on the team's current tour of Holland.

The Somerset league skipper came on as a substitute fielder during this week's Intercontinental Cup match with the Dutch at the VRA Cricket Club in Amstelveen, and has undergone light fielding and bowling practice sessions under the watchful eyes of team management in the nets.

"If he's healing like this then he should be ready to play on Saturday with two more days off to recover," Bermuda skipper Irving Romaine commented. "The physiotherapist (Brown) initially suspected he had a rip in his shoulder. But he is actually bowling again and so maybe it was just a bit of stiffness to his shoulder."

Bermuda lost heavily to the Dutch in the Intercontinental Cup (by an innings and 44 runs), and are set to meet their hosts in two official ODIs in Rotterdam before travelling to Dublin, Ireland early next week to begin preparations for their second Intercontinental Cup clash with the Irish.
