Man had cannabis

A 20-year-old Cut Road, St. George's man admitted to possession of 14.96 grams of cannabis on Friday in Magistrates' Court.

The court heard from Crown counsel Robert Welling that on November 15 in Sandys Parish, Police stopped a van, which had a strong smell coming from it.

Police noticed the passenger of the van, Gervel Seymore, attempt to hide something under the front seat.

When they retrieved the object with was a homemade paper cigarette containing plant like substance.

Seymore was arrested and taken to Somerset and the substance was analysed and found to be cannabis.

"I apologise for wasting everyone's time and this is a wake up call to get my life together," Seymore told Police.

He told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo in court: "This has been a learning experience and I now know not to go down that path again."

Mr. Tokunbo ordered a social inquiry report which will be reviewed before sentencing on May 29.
