Bermuda Allstars wrecked St. Agnos and St. Paul's CC to win their annual New Jersey Cup competition in East Orange on Sunday, with former Bermuda national team medium pacer Corey Hill emerging as most valuable player. The locals retain the trophy.

Spearheaded by Hill, the team of Bermuda veterans coasted to victory. Hill snatched top bowling figures of four for 26 runs off eight overs. Two other medium pacers shared in the wickets with skipper Vance Gilbert and Chris Caisey taking two wickets apiece, Gilbert claiming two for 15 off 3.2 overs and Caisey two for 42 off eight.

The hosts succumbed in a mere 12.4 overs in the 40-over contest.

R. Williams topped their batting with 30 while G.Ramnarine scored 10.

Several Bermuda players feasted on their opposition's bowling, Ricky Hill top-scoring on 34 while Anthony Amory made 30. Corey Hill hit 26 and Chris Smith 24, before retiring after being hit in the face by a delivery, and Johnny Bean chipped in with 19.

N. Muhammad led the home side's bowlers with three wickets for 27 runs off eight overs with a maiden.

The majority of the local team return home with their trophy tomorrow.
