Membership launch aims to put you in the picture
The new director of the Bermuda Society of Arts has launched a membership drive and hopes to put you in the picture.
Gallery director Victoria Evans is inviting all previous, current and prospective members to meet on the steps of City Hall today at 11 a.m.
"We aim to host the largest group photograph commemorating the organisation's 54 year anniversary and to kick-off of the 2007 membership drive," she said.
"As the oldest cultural centre in the heart of Hamilton, BSoA, a non-profit art organisation, with over 400 active members is the 'People's Gallery' and as such, wants to channel support for emerging and established artists and cultivate a new generation of artists and art philanthropists.
"Like people, art comes in all shapes, colours and sizes."
The annual membership is $40 and it offers an array of present and future benefits; discounts with local and overseas merchants and a virtual gallery for world wide sale opportunities. Ms Evans is inviting participants to take an early lunch break and be a part of an historic photographic event. All new/renewing members will receive a BSoA green bag.
