Police are advising construction site managers to make note of serial numbers of their tools and to keep the information in a secure and separate place.

It follows a rise in the number of complaints about tools being stolen from various construction sites around the Island. Police say if tools are stolen, this information is vital to their recovery.

All tools should be placed in a locked storeroom. Any people seen acting suspiciously around construction sites should be reported to Police at 295-0011.

Tools taken from parked van

Tools were stolen from a parked van on Langton Hill in Pembroke on Monday.

At 7.25 a.m., Police attended a reported theft and spoke with the complainant who had noticed the items were missing around 6.45 a.m. that day.

Police are investigating the incident.

Cash stolen from guest house

Thieves stole cash from a Warwick Guest House this week.

The complainants, who are tourists, said some time between 2 a.m. and 6.30 a.m. yesterday someone gained entry into their cottage and stole the cash. Police inquiries are underway.

The complainant said between 11.40 a.m. and 2.20 p.m. someone gained entry into her apartment while she was away. Police are investigating.
